About Argyll Walking Holidays
Each year Cowal hosts the very popular Cowalfest, walking and arts festival. The festival is held on an annual basis in October and the 2006 festival takes place from 6th October to 15th October.
Cowalfest is a new style of festival, geared towards the active lifestyles and wide ranging interests of life in the 21st century. Breaking down barriers, dusting down traditional walking, taking the arts out of their box and offering a great experience for all. Walking cycling, scenery, wildlife, history, heritage, arts, crafts, drama and music have all been put into the mixture to come up with a life enriching blend that is guaranteed to leave you wonderfully relaxed yet stimulated by fresh air and great sights in the outdoor world and the arts.
In addition, for all year round walking, there are many guided and self-guided walking routes throughout Argyll. There is also a new 47 mile footpath running the length of the Cowal Peninsula, starting at Portavadie to Ardgarten.
